Tourism Institute of East Africa – Zanzibar Campus | Opening 2026
The Tourism Institute of East Africa (TIEA) proudly unveils its upcoming Zanzibar Campus, a new center of excellence set against one of the most enchanting destinations in the world. Opening in 2026, this campus will offer students the rare opportunity to study the art, culture, and business of tourism right at the heart of the Indian Ocean — where history, hospitality, and natural beauty converge.
Zanzibar’s tourism industry is one of Africa’s most celebrated success stories — and now, it will become a living classroom for the next generation of tourism professionals. The TIEA Zanzibar Campus is designed to prepare students to thrive in the fast-evolving world of hospitality, travel, and destination management, while immersing them in the real-world dynamics of a global tourism hotspot.
At TIEA, we believe that education should move, connect, and inspire. That’s why every student enrolled at TIEA will experience a cross-campus exchange program, spending one month studying at another TIEA location across East Africa — from Uganda to Kenya to Tanzania’s mainland. This powerful exchange broadens their horizons, strengthens regional unity, and shapes them into professionals with both local roots and global vision.
Equally, our lecturers are travelers too. Faculty from all TIEA campuses circulate across the network, sharing their expertise, teaching diverse classes, and enriching the learning experience with pan-African perspectives and international best practices. Every visit, every class, and every collaboration brings new knowledge and new energy to the TIEA community.
The Zanzibar Campus will embody TIEA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and experiential learning. Through industry partnerships, field-based projects, and digital learning tools, students will engage directly with hotels, resorts, tour operators, and heritage sites — gaining hands-on experience that turns theory into leadership.
More than a school, TIEA Zanzibar will be a sanctuary of inspiration — where the turquoise waters and timeless culture remind every student that tourism is not just an industry, but a bridge between people and places.
Come 2026, Zanzibar’s tourism and hospitality students will have a world-class home to learn, grow, and belong —
The Tourism Institute of East Africa, Zanzibar Campus.
A place where the ocean whispers opportunity, where cultures connect, and where Africa learns together.
