Tourism Institute of East Africa – Gulu Campus | Opening 2026
The Tourism Institute of East Africa (TIEA) is proud to announce the opening of its Gulu, Uganda Campus — a powerful symbol of transformation, resilience, and opportunity in the heart of Northern Uganda. Opening in 2026, this campus will serve as a bridge between the region’s rich cultural heritage and the limitless possibilities of modern tourism and hospitality education.
Gulu, a city once defined by recovery, is now rising as a hub of creativity, enterprise, and youthful energy. With the establishment of the TIEA Gulu Campus, students from across Northern Uganda and neighboring regions will gain access to world-class training that empowers them to build careers, businesses, and communities through tourism.
At TIEA, we don’t just teach; we connect and empower. Every student enrolled at TIEA becomes part of a regional network that stretches across East Africa — from Zanzibar’s coasts to Nairobi’s city lights. As part of our unique cross-campus exchange program, every learner will spend one month studying at another TIEA campus in a different country, gaining new perspectives, cultural understanding, and professional exposure that expand their horizons far beyond borders.
Our model of education thrives on mobility and shared knowledge. Lecturers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and beyond regularly rotate between campuses, delivering lessons enriched by real-world experience and regional insight. This dynamic exchange of talent ensures that the Gulu Campus becomes not just a place of learning, but a center of collaboration and inspiration — where students and teachers grow together.
The TIEA Gulu Campus will focus on practical, industry-ready programs in tourism, hospitality, events management, customer service, and entrepreneurship — equipping young people with the skills to create jobs, transform their communities, and tell the authentic stories of Northern Uganda to the world.
Set amidst Gulu’s warmth, creativity, and cultural pride, this campus will stand as a beacon of hope and excellence — a place where learning leads to empowerment, and education becomes a force for change.
Come 2026, Uganda’s northern region will have its own gateway to the global tourism economy —
The Tourism Institute of East Africa, Gulu Campus.
A place where heritage meets opportunity, where young minds rise, and where Africa learns together.
