What is the purpose of Certificate in Foundation Studies?

If you do not have the required Senior/Form Four or its equivalent academic requirements for admission to Tourism Institute of East Africa, you can apply to enrol in the Certificate in Foundation Studies. Successful completion of this one-semester qualification will give you admission to the institute and prepare you for Certificate study in your field of choice which you can later upgrade to a Diploma program in any area of your interest.

To complete the Certificate you will do 10 course units - five compulsory courses that focus on academic language, study and research skills and five elective courses from your area of academic interest. Elective courses can be chosen from Tourism and Hospitality pathways (subject to academic approval).

On successful completion of the Certificate in Foundation Studies you will be eligible for admission to unrestricted Certificate Programs at Tourism Institute of East Africa.
